For the third time, the Swiss research institute Empa awarded prizes to international projects that were carried out with aerogel materials. This year, the jury was impressed by two projects from the FIXIT GRUPPE that were renovated with the high-performance insulation material Fixit222 Aerogel. 
 

Second place - Reference HASIT Germany
Refurbishment of the "Langer Jammer" in Hamburg-Barmbek in accordance with the preservation order by the architectural office Störmer Murphy and Partners and the Hamburg architect Christine Fuhrmann - more about the project

Third place - Reference FIXIT Switzerland
Harbour building "Skur 38" by architects Hille Melbye and Kristin Jarmund from Oslo (Norway). Built in 1915, the building was refurbished and converted from 2020 to 2022 in accordance with the principles of sustainability, energy efficiency, the circular economy and the BREEAM NOR standard, and now forms the new heart of the Oslo harbour - more about the project

 
Awards were given to both already realised refurbishment projects and planning projects by students from all over the world in two categories. Energy efficiency, the preservation of the historic appearance and the originality of the solution on the buildings are evaluated.
